Pronoun-Verb Agreement
A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. A present tense verb tells what is happening right now. A present
tense action verb must agree with the pronoun in the same sentence. We add -s to most action verbs in the present
tense with the singular pronouns he, she, and it. ex: She makes rules. He follows rules. It keeps us safe.
Book Titles
The title of a book is written in a special way. The first word, last word, and all important words begin with a capital letter.
The title is also underlined. Sometimes, titles can be italicized. ex: How the Constitution Works , The Laws of the
Land.
