Happy Friday! We made it through another long week.  Thank you for understanding about the substitutes this week. Mrs. Libby had a science meeting Tuesday morning and Mrs. Cosgrove had a funeral to attend on Thursday.  You will be pleased that we both received glowing reports about your kids.  

 

Sharebooks went home today! Please remember to look in their backpacks and read their sweet "What Makes Me Me" Heart, write a note back and send it back to school by next Wednesday!  Thank you all for the sweet notes, happy faces, and pictures the last time the sharebooks went home. 

 

I forgot to send home Friday Folder - sorry! They will be packed full next Friday! 

 

We will be starting a fun new language arts unit next week. Be looking in their homework folders for homework that goes along with this unit. It will not be every night, but will be assigned a couple times a week!

 

Homework - Most students are doing a great job printing the correct homework and bringing it to school the day it is due. Please let us know if printing the homework is an issue. In addition, Reflex Math has been added to homework twice a week. This is VERY important. Please make sure your child logs onto Reflex and gets a GREEN LIGHT at least 3 times a week.

 

On Monday, your child will bring home their first Grammar packet. We complete these pages in class and correct them as an entire class.  We will be having a test on the content in this packet at the end of the week.  Please review the information with your child. This is the beginning of learning how to study for tests.   

 

A volunteer calendar was sent home on Thursday. If you did not receive a calendar and would like to volunteer, please send us an email. If you have a conflict with a day you were scheduled, please let us know.  We thank you in advance for all your help.

Good Afternoon Room 8 Families!

 

We have completed our first full week of school and it was a great one!  We look forward to meeting you on Thursday at Back to School Night. Please go to the MPR at 630pm and then at 645 we will meet in room 8.  

 

Yesterday, we sent home the first timed math fact test as well as their first Unit math test.  Please read the notes attached to the tests and let us know if you have any questions. Our goal in math is for confidence, perseverance, and success.

 

Today, your child brought home a large manila envelope. We call this the "Friday Folder" and it will be sent home every Friday with completed work from the week. This is a GREAT time to review work completed with your child.  Please empty this folder and send it back to school on Monday. 

 

We also sent home their "Sharebook" with the first activity completed. Please read the green note on the inside front cover, do the parent homework :), and return the sharebook by Wednesday. This is a great activity but does require some parent participation. Thank you for your support.  

 

Finally, we are starting to visit the library on Thursday this week with our new librarian, Victoria Kramer.  She has asked for volunteers in the library during our 10-1030 time. Please use the attached link to volunteer.
