good morning first graders this is your Friday math video and it covers the three extra practice pages that you have today for class work that's 45 46 and 47 do you need your extra practice pad and pencil so this is going to work on turns and right angles and there's a picture as a top to get you started with cardinal directions north south east west on it ask some questions were asked to think about where we would be if we make a certain turn or rotation and it's going to say things like you turn 90 degrees to the left or to the right and it's also going to use the phrase you are facing this so for example it might say you are facing the market and I'm going to use this little push to help us kind of pictures and that the Met start of a push pin is going to be pointing in the direction that were facing you looking at this Market okay or if we're facing south we're going to have it like this with you looking at this so when it says turn to the right or turn to the left that's going to depend on which way you're facing so for example if we're facing this way the market and we turn into well that's going to seem natural to turn in this direction A or B turn to the left but if we are facing the subway station are right and left in one way to think about that turn your paper over so here we are facing the subway station turn to the right then returning a misdirection which notice that means from here to the bus stop if I turn this back turning to the right wood look like we're going to the last but you have to remember which direction you're facing a lot of train packing around and reorienting us so we're looking at it the same way that the person is you're at point x so here's play next and you are facing the bus stop so we are facing the bus stop here we are looking at the bus stop you turn to the right until you say Ace Market what fraction of a turn did turn into the market from here to hear what fraction of a turn did we make a but since it's asking for the angle we know how many degrees are in a full turn that would be three 60 degrees you are at point x and you are facing the cinema you turn to the right until you face the market what angle do you turn through that you are facing this your sister you're turning to the right until you face the market so we want to picture this the same way the person is here they are facing the cinema they're going to turn to the right until the market so that's going to be a 1/4 to force Market 3/4 so they make us 3/4 turn I'm going to go ahead and write that 3/4 turn how many degrees are in a 3/4 turn a 3/4 of a circle 3/4 of 360 or 90 + 90 + 90 Sports is 90° would be equal to 270 degrees going to have to flip back to our diagram but let's read it first you're at point x and you are facing the bus stop you turn to the left until you face the subway station what angle do you turn through the first row facing the bus stop we're going to turn to the left until we Face south is going to first make a 90-degree turn to her right 90° we know 90 is a right angle is 1/4 of a turn so he or she is now his loss after her first move the paper again and then she makes a 3/4 turn to her left so here she is facing this way her less is this way 3/4 that's 1/4 2/4 3/4 and what direction is she alright next one Dino Dino starts by facing west he makes a 3/4 turn to the right then he makes a hundred and eighty degree turn so let's start by facing west he's going to make a 3/4 turn to his rights if you're not sure which who is right oriented this way to the right is going to be this way he's making us 3/4 turn so that's 1/4 2/4 and 3/4 so he's facing south first turn but then he makes a hundred and eighty degree turn a circle and he is again facing north all right next page 47 we're going to be looking for the right angle in each triangle it does identify of the following triangles so you can do this with a protractor you can line it up and measure each angle. You're probably pretty familiar with right angle looks like it should look like the corner so looking at this first triangle triangle ABC order there's only one angle that looks like it could be 90° or looks like the corner of a square and that's going to be this one so when they say name the angle use three letters to identify at 7 to put the angle symbol C is a vertex and needs to be in the middle that's going to be a is 90° Hardy CA all right then looking at this one again when you first look at the triangle there's only one that looks like it could be 90° if you're not sure you can always use your protractor to check but these two angles are smaller than a right angle so we're looking at angles are right angle angle q r e r look at all three angles which one looks like a 90 degree angle y x z y x 90° all right today to not have any class work homework so we are done with the video
