Week 10 Distance Learning: May 26- May 29

I hope you all had a happy Memorial Day! There were no assignments for Monday, May 25.

This week we are focusing on Test Preparation and Test Taking Skills. Watch the BrainPops and hopefully you will learn some great strategies for next year.

4th Grade Literature for May 26-29: *******************************

Monday- Memorial Day! No School.

Tuesday- Listen to Chapter 21 and 22 of IBD. You can find each chapter on my Edlio page under the heading “Island of the Blue Dolphins”. This is in the blue bar on the right side of the Edlio page. Answer your Main Idea/Key Detail reading questions for each of the chapters you read today. Chapters 1-29 will be due next Friday, June 5.

These are your 4 questions you need to answer after reading each chapter of IBD:

Wednesday- 1. Work on your Book Report that is due on Friday. It will not be IBD since we are not done with the book until next week. 4th graders are only turning in a book report of a chapter book they have been reading since Week 1 of Distance Learning. It can be By the Great Horned Spoon or another chapter book you have read. Remember that all Book Report choices are on my Edlio page. You need to pick one to do and turn it in by Friday. When we are finished with IBD you will then turn in your Main Idea and 3 Key Detail notes you have been taking for the whole book.

What are some ways that immigrants have made California richer and more diverse? Write a paragraph explaining how they contributed to California.
Use the map of California on page 319 to answer these questions.

What cities did the Japanese immigrant group live?

Thursday- (I am starting report cards today, so if I don’t answer your question quickly, that is why.) Work on your Book Report and Main Idea and Key Details of all chapters from your book that are due tomorrow. Your Main Ideas/Key Details should be organized, full of details and easy to follow. You need to title each of your chapters with a chapter number. I am looking for well-written sentences that are full of details!
