Work for Week 2- March 23-27

Hello Room 6 Students and Families,

I am missing you all and hope that you are all doing well. Staying at home all the time is new to all of us and can be frustrating. My goal this week is to be more creative. I want to try to learn how to make pasta noodles from scratch. If you are up for a challenge, try something creative and new. Here are some ideas for you to weave creativity into your week: draw, paint, build a fort with blankets, help make a meal for the family, learn how to do laundry (my son's favorite :), or find all those old toys and games in your room and build a store for your family to shop in.

Let me know what you do this week that is creative. I'll let you know how my homemade noodles go!

Here is a overview of the schoolwork for the week.

4th Grade-

Literature: Continue reading your chapter book for 30 minutes a day and writing your summary paragraph after each day of reading. When you finish a chapter book create a book report using your creativity! Your book report should talk about the beginning, middle and ending of your book. It could be a PowerPoint, a Word document, a poster, a mini book or your own idea. Remember, be creative!

Social Studies: Read Chapter 7- DESTINATION CALIFORNIA

Math and Science- check Waddell-Chow and Tredennick's Edlio pages for what to do.

5th Grade

Literature-Continue reading your Colonial Times/American Revolution Historical Fiction books. If you are finished then start your Questionnaire and Essays that are on the blue paper I gave you already. You need to write 4 detailed and important historical facts that you learned from reading your book. Next, you need to write a paragraph about what you would most enjoy about living in this time period and then a second paragraph you need to write about what you would most dislike about the time period. Please type all of this on the computer and email it to me when finished. This assignment is due to me by April 16.

Social Studies-

1. You should be done with your Chapter 9 Posters. I am still figuring a way for you to turn in. Maybe you could take a picture and email me that. For now, just make sure you are done with the poster.

2. Finish your State History Essay. This is due to me on Friday, March 27. Email your essay when you are finished.

3. Daily Geography #23. Keep this when finished and I will collect when we are back to school.

Math and Science- Continue to check with your math teacher an Mrs. Tredennick's Edlio page.

I miss you all so very much! Please email me with any questions or concerns you have. You can also just email me to let me know how your doing. If you do anything creative, please share it with me! I will send out an email later this week to check in with everyone. :)

Much love! Mrs. Colvin
