Welcome to Vista Grande Elementary, home of the Voyagers! We are so excited for the 2025-2026 school year, which marks the 60th anniversary of the Vista Grande Elementary PTA providing outstanding educational programs and community events that enhance our Voyagers' development as students!
What Does the PTA Do With Your Support?
The Vista Grande Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization, and our goal is to have a positive impact on the lives of children and their families. We want to build a community at our school where we advocate for the education, protection, inclusivity, safety and well-being of all children. We also want to have fun and make every child’s experience at Vista Grande a memorable one!
Each year, through your generous support, the Vista Grande Elementary PTA supports and funds numerous programs and events that directly impact students' education and development. These programs and events would not exist without support from the PTA and include: Student Enrichment through Art at Your Fingertips, Reflections Art Competition, Library Support, International Day, Green Week, Red Ribbon Week, Yellow Ribbon Week, Student Assemblies, Field Trip Bus Transportation, and many additional student enrichment activities; Community Events such as Welcome Back Picnic, Movie Night, Talent Show, Game Night, and Spring Festival; Teacher and Staff Support via Teacher Start Up Funds, Teacher Lunches/Breakfasts, Teacher Appreciation, copying services and materials, and more.
How Can You Participate in the PTA?
By joining the PTA, you are welcome to attend our meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, with the first meeting on September 9, 2025 at 8:45 a.m. We encourage everyone to come to our meetings if you are able and help us to advocate for what’s best for the children at Vista Grande. All meetings can be attended in person or via Zoom. We have an exciting year of meeting topics planned for you and we hope you attend and participate!
There are also opportunities to volunteer for our programs and help in the classroom. These opportunities allow you to plan and organize PTA events as well as engage with students and make a lasting impression on their education experience. A list of volunteer opportunities are included later in this packet and include Room Parent, AAYF, Garden Helper, and to assist with our Parent Social, Talent Show, Fun Run, Book Fair, and other events.
As a PTA member, there is no obligation to attend meetings or volunteer, but your membership and donations will still have a great impact on our school.
Together, we look forward to a wonderful 60th Anniversary year where we give our Voyagers great enrichment and educational opportunities!
Thank you,
Dear Voyagers!
Welcome back to school! We are looking forward to seeing each of you when we return to campus. A few things that are important to me as the principal of Vista Grande are student-centered collaboration, partnership and community. We could not ask for a better collaborative partner than our PTA. The members of our PTA work tirelessly and give selflessly of their time so our students can have incredible experiences and opportunities. Our students, staff and families here at Vista Grande feel like a community and that is due in large part to our PTA. Our PTA provides programs and experiences for our students as well as volunteer opportunities for our parents. We hope you’ll take a few moments to fill out the PTA portion of this welcome packet and again, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new faces in the fall!
Welcome to Vista Grande!
Thank you,
Angela Disalvo
