Welcome Back to the 2021-2022 School Year!

Hello, Vista Grande Students and Families!

We are getting ready to kick off the 2021-2022 school year! We have less than two weeks until school starts on August 25th!  We are returning to our regular bell schedule. School will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day, with the arrival of students starting at 8:15 a.m. The Bell Schedule is attached for your reference.

We will begin this year following routines and protocols based on current County and Health Guidelines. In advance, I ask that our community is flexible as updates are made to guidelines. I will send out notifications and any changes that will impact our school community. Our number one priority is to keep our staff and students safe while they attend school. Please review the following information.

Green Screen:

All individuals coming to campus (students, staff, teachers, parents, etc.) will conduct a daily screening at the link below before coming to campus each day. Have the screener filled at home, as the Wi-Fi and cell service around Vista Grande can be spotty. We will be using a new screener, and the link is below. If your screen is green, you come to school, and if it is red you may not come to campus. Please take a screenshot of your green screen and be prepared to show it to a staff member when you drop off your child.

Drop off and Pick up Procedures:

More information will come in a separate notice.

Masking:

Per LA County/Health Guidelines, all students and staff must wear masks while indoors. Masking outside is optional. Students will be spaced out when eating outside and playing. Students will be encouraged to keep socially distant. I will continue to provide updates as guidance/protocols change. The safety of all on-campus is our highest priority. For the latest protocol guidance from the LA County Department of Health, please see the link below:

Reopening Protocols for K-12 Schools: Appendix T1 (lacounty.gov)

Food Services Update:

The District is pleased to offer complimentary breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2021-2022 school year! Optional breakfast will be provided to students during morning recess, and lunch will be offered through the cafeteria at lunchtime. Students will be asked to raise their hand in class every morning if they plan to get lunch from the cafeteria. In addition, water and milk will be available for cashless sale with your Titan prepaid account. More information and menus can be found on the Food Services website: www.pvpusd.net > Parents & Students > Lunch Program.

Registration Paperwork:

If you have not filled out the registration and first day of school paperwork, please do so by accessing the link below.

Classroom Assignments:

You may hear from other elementary schools that they are getting their teacher assignments on Tuesday, 8/17/21. While Vista Grande is trying very hard to make that date happen, we did have a few technical difficulties in the last few days which may cause us a delay. We are working diligently to get those lists to you and we will update you ASAP with a date/time to review your students’ class assignments.

Parents on Campus:
At this time, we will not be having parents on campus. I will update our families with more information shortly. Parents are always welcome to come to the office for school business or to retrieve a child. Please wear a mask and be ready to show us your COVID screener.

1st day of school is a 1/2 day Wednesday, 8/25:

The first day of school is Wednesday, 8/25, and is a half day. School will start at 8:30 a.m. for all students (Grades TK-5) and dismiss at 11:45 a.m. for TK and at noon for grades K-5.

TK/ K Meet and Greet:

The Vista Grande Team will be hosting an optional TK/K Meet the Teachers on Tuesday, August 24th from 1p-2p. An email will go out to these families with more information.
