Monday - Lesson: Why is the ocean salty?
Bonus Activity: Imagine that you are on a boat in the middle of the ocean. There is salt water all around you, but you can’t drink it! Think like an inventor. What can you build so that you can get fresh water? (Hint: Think about what you just learned about salt water, rain, and fresh water.) Make a drawing of your invention.
Friday - Lesson: How deep does the ocean go?
Bonus Activity: Think about a lake or pond near where you live. How deep do you think it is? What does the bottom look like? You don’t have sonar, so how could you figure it out? Draw a picture of your plan and describe how you would figure out what the bottom of the lake or pond looks like.
This week's Challenge!! Let's Go for a Drive!
You are to create something that goes - could be a car, airplane, wagon, scooter, truck, semi, motorcycle, you name it! You are to create this moving machine out of recycled materials you fins around your home - they can be boxes, plastic bottles, straws, fast food containers, paper towel rolls, anything you can find that works. Once you have built your go-mobile, you must paint your creation - get creative, get fancy, use your dream colors. Then test your creation out - does it go? Next you will need a driver - so create a mini elephant, piggie, or pigeon to drive your creation and put them in the drivers seat. Lastly, you can make a video of your creation going somewhere, or you can share it live on our Friday zoom meeting.
