Check out this tutorial on using lattice multiplication for multi-digit numbers. It is a great strategy to enrich your understanding of multiplication or to double check your work!
Here is a great, explained example of partial product multiplication, as shown in the spiral notes. Again, this is a great technique to use as a check step when you're doing the standard algorithm (or "rules") for multiplication.
Here is an example of using the Area Model of multiplication (similar to partial products, but with a handy visual that connects to geometry). Fourth and fifth graders alike will be asked to work with the area model at different times this year, also with fractions and mixed numbers.
Check this out (in addition to your spiral notes) for a nice review of the standard algorithm for multiplying multi-digit numbers.
A handy tool for checking homework, with an explanation of the procedure needed to solve the problem "written out" or "manually"... of course I'll expect students to be able to show all work on tests and quizzes. This is just for checking. ;)
