Good Afternoon 3rd Grade Families,
I know some people have had additional questions regarding the 3rd grade December gift so here is some information in a little more detail.
3rd grade has a special celebration tradition for the book The Polar Express that we read this month. Every year it is one of the highlights. We read the book, have fun writing assignments and watch the movie. We celebrate the day with activities that celebrate the book and add to the magic of the season.
A dear friend has a wonderful story and makes custom bells to celebrate the first gift of Christmas. We have an opportunity to get the bells they make for about $9 each (normally $14.95 through the website), which would be an awesome 3rd grade keepsake.
We would love to give the bells to the students on Polar Express Day - but need help purchasing them. If you have already signed up and sent money, thank you!! If you can help out, we'd really appreciate it. Currently, we have collected a total of $190 for all 3 classes. We need at least $220 per classroom ($660 for all 3 classes) which is $8.50 per student.
Thank you all so much for your support. Attached is a picture and the process of how the bells are created so you can see the bells and read their personal story.
Magical Bells Story (magicalbells.com)
Magical Bells began in 2006 when my late wife, Christina Frueh, was inspired by our son, Evan, asking for "a silver sleigh bell from Santa's sleigh, JUST LIKE IN THE POLAR EXPRESS!" Christina searched everywhere for an authentic Polar Express sleigh bell. She found poor quality jingle bells and a lot of bells "claiming" to be "Polar Express Bells". But none fit for Santa's sleigh. So Christina decided to create her own!
Each of our premium sleigh bells are handcrafted, heirloom quality and truly a labor of love. We are the only company offering an authentic Polar Express sleigh bell. This special gift appeals to children and adults of all ages and represents "the universal symbol to believe".
Sadly, Christina passed away in 2014. Our son, Evan, 10 years old at the time, was comforted by playing with his friends, Owen and Gavin, who had recently lost their father, Chad, to leukemia. Chad and his wife Jenna were our very close friends. As Jenna, our 3 boys, and I spent more time with each other, it became apparent that we were brought together for a reason, and we married and combined our families. We keep Christina and Chad alive in our hearts everyday, and Christina's passion for magical bells and to "believe" continues through Jenna, Evan, Owen, Gavin, and myself. We are honored to keep Magical Bells operating and to continue providing our beautiful sleigh bells to our customers around the world.
From our family to yours, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Mike and Jenna, Evan, Owen, and Gavin
Thank you again and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
